Veteran Sports Executives Launch The Convergence Network LLC

(April 7, 2008, Westport, CT) - Sports industry veterans and former National Football League colleagues Tom Richardson, Jim Schwebel, and Jim Connelly have announced the launch of The Convergence Network LLC, which will specialize in executive search, recruitment services, and career management in the sports industry.

The Convergence Network (TCN) will work with a variety of clients, including sports leagues and associations, teams, sports marketing and promotion agencies, sports media properties, and brand marketers to identify and recruit great management talent and effective leadership in a rapidly evolving and competitive marketplace. In addition, TCN will work with venture capital and private equity companies to help build teams for new and early stage businesses in sports and related sectors, such as entertainment and leisure.

In addition to search, The Convergence Network will offer a variety of career management services, including career counseling and executive coaching. The TCN partners will work with both individuals and properties within the industry, as well as sports management programs at American universities and colleges.

The principals of The Convergence Network have a wealth of sports, marketing, and management experience, including over 60 years combined in the center of the sports business. Tom Richardson, managing partner, has over 25 years in the sports and media business, having held senior positions at the NFL, the NHL, and AOL. In addition, he worked at executive search firm Spencer Stuart. Jim Schwebel, partner, spent over 20 years at the NFL, where he held several senior-level marketing and sponsorship positions. Previously, he worked in brand marketing at Lever Brothers. Jim Connelly, partner, had a 25-year NFL career that included various management positions in the NFL's international, consumer products, and marketing groups. Previously, he held several brand marketing positions at Colgate-Palmolive and Cunard.

In order build the largest and most robust talent network in the industry, The Convergence Network plans to establish affiliations with a variety of related businesses within the sports industry, including other consulting groups, financial institutions, and marketing agencies.
